What is ImpactMojo?

ImpactMojo is a free development education platform for NGOs, social impact organisations and development practitioners across South Asia. It offers courses, interactive studios, games and resources on MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning), Theory of Change, research methods, gender studies and more.

Are all courses really free?

Yes. All core educational content on ImpactMojo is free and will remain free forever. We follow a "pay what you think is fair" approach, and optional paid features and tools help sustain the platform.

Do I get a certificate after completing a course?

Yes. Every signed-up learner earns a free certificate of completion for each course they finish. It appears in your account, and anyone can check it by its ID on our verification page. Practitioner members and above can also download the certificate as a PDF and show it in a portfolio.

Do I need to create an account?

You can browse most of our content without an account. A free account lets you track your progress, earn certificates and save your notes.

What does Membership include?

There are four plans. Explorer is free forever and covers all 100 courses, the labs, the 135-game library, reading companions, deep dives, DevData Practice and the free-to-use Pro Studio tools. Practitioner (₹399/month or ₹3,990/year) opens all 18 Practice Packs in full, the Research Question Builder Pro and Theory of Change Workbench Pro, and certificates with PDF download. Professional (₹999/month or ₹9,990/year) adds export from the Qualitative Insights Lab and Statistical Code Converter, the VaniScribe Colab notebook, ImpactMojo’s hosted models for the Advisory Board, copying code from the Visualization Cookbook, and priority coaching. The Team Plan (₹1,499/user/month) gives every member Professional access and adds a team dashboard, custom learning paths, and branded certificates, GST invoices and a named contact on request. See the Membership page for the full breakdown.

What languages are the courses available in?

Our courses are primarily in English, with selected content available in Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu and Marathi.

Where should I start?

If you are new, take the 6-question track quiz on the homepage. It suggests a starting track and a few 101 decks from your answers. Otherwise, browse the full catalog, or jump straight into a 101 course deck (short, self-contained) or a flagship course (deep, multi-module).

What's the difference between flagship courses and 101 decks?

Flagship courses (21 of them) are deep, multi-module treatments, typically 12–16 modules, most with an interactive lexicon and an AI study companion. 101 course decks (59 of them) are shorter, native-HTML slide decks that give you the essentials of a topic in one sitting. Together that makes 80 free courses. Both are free and need no login to study.

How much content is there in total?

The platform holds 100 courses (21 flagship and 79 foundational), 35 interactive studios, a 135-game library, 184 reading companions, 25 deep dives, 90 handouts, a Dataverse of 335 data tools and sources, and the ImpactLex glossary of 490+ terms. Almost all of it is free. Browse it all in the catalog.

Can I use ImpactMojo offline?

Yes. ImpactMojo is a Progressive Web App: pages you have visited stay available offline, and you can download a flagship course for full offline study. Add the site to your home screen on mobile to use it like an app, which helps in fieldwork with patchy connectivity.

What is Mojini?

Mojini is ImpactMojo's free AI assistant. It answers questions about the platform and about development topics, with instant answers for common questions and an AI model for the rest. Its answers draw on a snapshot of what is on the platform, so it can point you to the right course, studio or tool. Look for the chat bubble on most pages.

What is ImpactLex?

ImpactLex is a free, plain-language glossary of 490+ development, MEL, economics and policy terms. Each entry shows whether an editor has reviewed it and whether it cites a source, so check an entry before you quote it. It works offline and needs no login.

What is the Dataverse?

The Dataverse is a curated directory of 335 data tools, APIs, datasets and MCP servers for development research, filterable by type and category (government data, health, climate, legal, gender and more). It is free to browse.

What is The Long View?

The Long View is a studio of original charts and framework diagrams on development, climate, population and inequality. Each chart has a plain-language explainer of what it shows, why that chart type was chosen, and what to look for. The page also explains how to read a chart with care, beginning with why a bar chart should start at zero.

What are Field Radio, Deep Dives and Data Notes?

Field Radio is a community station of short voice notes and videos from practitioners, each with a transcript. Deep Dives are curated, annotated reading lists, each on one topic. Data Notes are worked analyses of real datasets. All three are free.

What are Practice Packs and the pro tools?

Practice Packs are focused three-hour sprints that walk you through producing a real, finished work document, such as a ToR, a survey or a logframe. The first two modules of every pack are free. The pro tools are the Research Question Builder, ToR Builder, Qualitative Insights Lab, Statistical Code Converter and Sampling Design Studio. They are free to use, and a paid plan unlocks exporting your work.

What are the Assessment Question Banks?

The Assessment Question Banks is four sets of 500 original multiple-choice questions, each with a full answer key and explanations, covering MEL, Data & Technology, Policy & Economics, and AI for M&E. Each is a PDF at ₹499, useful for exam preparation, self-testing or building your own quizzes.

How do I verify a certificate?

Each certificate carries a unique ID and a public verification link. Anyone, such as an employer or funder, can confirm a certificate at impactmojo.in/verify by entering its ID.

What are the assessed tracks and how do credentials work?

Assessed tracks (AI for M&E, MEL, Data & Technology, Policy & Economics) are self-paced pathways that end in a capstone assessment and a verifiable credential (₹2,499 each). Already finished a free pathway? You can add just the credential without repeating the learning. The learning itself stays free. The fee pays for the capstone review and the verifiable credential.

Does the platform really track my progress, bookmarks and notes?

Yes. With a free account, your course progress, bookmarks and personal notes are saved to your profile and sync across devices: sign in on your phone and pick up where you left off on your laptop. Without an account, progress is still saved locally in that one browser.

Can I get email or browser notifications?

Yes. In your account you can switch browser notifications on or off and choose which emails you receive, such as course updates, reminders, discussion replies and certificate notices, with a daily, weekly or no email digest. Browser notifications ask for your permission and stay off until you turn them on.

How do I pay, and how fast is activation?

Payment is a direct UPI transfer, with no gateway fees or middlemen. Send payment to our UPI ID with your registered email as the reference, then fill the short form on the Membership page. We upgrade your account within 24 hours, usually much faster. Organisations that can't use UPI can request invoice billing.

What is your refund policy?

If something isn't right, write to us at hello@impactmojo.in. The full terms are on our Refund Policy page. Because most content is free, we encourage you to explore thoroughly before subscribing.

Do you have plans for organisations and teams?

Yes. The Team plan (₹1,499/user/month) gives every member full Professional access plus a team dashboard (courses completed, average scores, certificates earned, active days and last activity, filterable by team, with CSV export), custom learning paths, access to all 15 live case challenges with custom ones on request, and branded certificates, GST invoices and a named contact on request. See Membership or write to hello@impactmojo.in.

How do I join the community?

There is a free WhatsApp professional learning community and a Telegram channel. You can request to join from the Community page. Paying members also get the moderated Discord.

What is the Research Rundown?

The Research Rundown is a bi-monthly Substack newsletter that unpacks new development research, data releases and policy analysis. You can subscribe to it from the Community page.

What are Build Circles and Coaching?

Build Circles are four-week cohorts of 6 to 10 people. Each member builds a working AI workflow for a real M&E problem and demos it, and the ₹1,000 seat deposit is refunded when you demo. Coaching offers 1-on-1 sessions on career, research design and data analysis, with sliding-scale pricing. Team workshops are priced per cohort (₹12,000 standard, ₹15,000 advanced, up to 6 people) with the same sliding-scale option. The workshop booking form has an optional field where you say what works for your budget, and we confirm by email.

How can I contribute?

ImpactMojo is open source. You can pitch a course, a Deep Dive, a Data Note, a lab, a reading companion or a handout, or improve the code on GitHub. See the Contribute page for all the ways to help.

How accessible is ImpactMojo?

We build to WCAG 2.1 AA, and the site is partially conformant today. Every change is audited with automated accessibility tools, and a serious violation on the pages those tools cover stops the change from shipping. Pages support keyboard and screen-reader use and offer light and dark themes. See our Accessibility Statement and the Transparency page.

What do you do with my data?

We collect the minimum needed to run your account and process personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We do not sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Data Protection pages. You can export your data from your account page, and you can ask us to delete it by writing to hello@impactmojo.in.

Can I reuse the content in my own training?

Educational content is licensed under Creative Commons BY-NC-ND 4.0. You may share it with attribution, for non-commercial use, without changing it. The platform code is open source under the MIT License. For other uses, or to commission a workshop, write to hello@impactmojo.in.

Are the certificates accredited degrees?

No. ImpactMojo is an educational resource platform and does not grant degrees. Our certificates mark course completion and, for assessed tracks, a passed capstone. They record learning and carry no academic accreditation.
