Correct the facts while they are cheap to fix

A validation workshop puts draft findings in front of programme staff, partners and sometimes participants. It catches factual mistakes while they are cheap to fix, brings in explanations the data cannot give and builds ownership among the people who must act on the report. It is not a negotiation, and the room should hear that at the start.

This pack gives you the plan in nine steps, from purpose and participants to the written record. A half-day agenda has timings. Finding cards let a person understand a finding in a minute. A comment capture sheet gives every comment a type and a response, and scripts cover the three moments that go wrong: a dispute with no evidence, a senior person who dominates and a comment about a named person.

It follows the Findings Storyline Template and uses the ratings from the Evidence Strength Rating Guide. The Engagement Charter holds the independence rule the workshop must keep.
